From my LinkedIn profile, these are some of the recommendations people have posted

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Ian on his articles for CMSWire for over five years. Throughout, he manages to explain business-critical ideas clearly and with a sense of humor — which is a rarity in this area. His enthusiasm for the market he works in in no way dulls his critical abilities. I recommend anyone looking for a voice of reason in the software technology world to seek Ian’s input. “

— Siobhan Fagan, Editorial Manager, Simpler Media Group, Inc.,

“Ian is a creative and energetic person with strong principals and abilities to make things happen. Over the course of three years, Ian and I worked together on many projects from a sales and marketing perspective, I always trusted his critical thinking and ability to synergize sales needs with marketing and finance process and impact.”

— Ron Judd, worked directly with Ian at SDL plc

“Intelligent, Jovial, Enthusiastic… these are a few of the words that I associate with Ian, but first and foremost is Integrity. I had the pleasure of working for Ian for a few years, and I got to see how he manages complicated and challenging situations without ever resorting to the uglier workplace politics we all know and hate. Without a doubt he’s a consummate professional that knows his way around content marketing. He has the gift of gab and knows how to speak to a crowd, but his leadership is what I admire most. As my manager, he always ensured I was informed about the company’s direction and how we as a team needed to respond to emerging issues. He provided guidance when required and always made time when I needed to talk to him (not easy to do with our regular workloads). He strove to facilitate team camaraderie and taught me a lot about how to create great content. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with and for Ian again in the future.”

— Andrew Thomas, reported to Ian at SDL plc

“Ian joined Alterian with the acquisition of Media Surface and quickly integrated himself into the new organisation. Ian brought a wealth of WCM knowledge and skills, together with a dedication to making the product successful. A man of deeply held and well supported ideas, Ian is great at communicating them to all levels of the organisation internally and externally.”

— Chris Nolan, managed Ian indirectly at Alterian

“I worked with Ian for many years at Mediasurface/Alterian. Usually on opposing sides of the Development/Sales and Marketing fence. He is an extremely hard working professional, very passionate and knowledgeable about the WCM market space. Definitely someone I like to catch up with to discuss the
goings on in this challenging and ever changing industry.”

— Mike Read, worked with Ian at Alterian

“Beyond just being a fun bloke to work with, Ian is an engaging, knowledgeable, and passionate professional. His deep experience in the content management industry and willingness to share data and viewpoints make Ian a valuable resource for any team he is on. I would not hesitate to work with Ian again.”

— Ivan Chalif, worked directly with Ian at Alterian

“Ian is a wealth of knowledge about the history, growth, and future of Web content management and online engagement. He was always willing to share his experience to help guide my work — and provide articulate and valuable insights to improve the decisions that I make. It was a pleasure to work and learn from Ian.”

— Keith K. Tsang, reported to Ian at Alterian

“Product. Communications. Customer. When I worked with him, Ian Truscott excelled at all three. Ian was such fun to work with and the safest pair of hands to take to a customer meeting. Always eager to learn and be better – despite already being fabulous -it is not wonder Ian has excelled in his career over the last decade. I would recommend Ian very highly to anyone lucky enough to have the chance to work with him.”

— Marina Grazier, worked indirectly for Ian at Vignette

“One of the recurrign pleasures of the high tech market is not only the calibre of people you encounter but
also the opportunity to work with them in different stages of your , and thei, career. Ian is a prime example of this: Firstly, he impressed me first with his product knowledge, communicaiton skills and maturity of customer management at Vignette. Secondly, we had the opportunity to reconnect in his role at Alterian/Mediasurface, where it is self evident his business acumen, technology insights and overall market analysis have evovled to shape him as a lead in his field.”

— Andrew Ewing, managed Ian indirectly at Vignette

“Ian has a unique blend of technical ability, commercial awareness, good humour and perseverence which
makes him a great value member of the team. He gets the job done every time, with style.”

— Will Lovatt, worked with Ian at Vignette

“A truly exceptional Sales Engineer. This is the guy you need for that BIG deal. I worked closely with Ian when we closed BMW UK and other deals and his tenacity and professionalism were first class. A winner.”
